Masten Wanjala was stabbed to death on 14th October 2021, Thursday evening, but his family is resistant to finally lay him down to rest

Bukusu community elders and family of the self proclaimed children serial killer Wanjala now wants his body to be buried by the river bank to prevent any curses

Isaac Misiko, an elder from Wanjala’s family told the standard that, the body of the suspected killer should be buried outside the homestead, in accordance with the bukusu community customs. The suspected serial killer confessed to killing more than ten children a few weeks ago was arrested but later escaped custody from police custody in Jogoo road.

Misiko added that the rituals should be performed before and after his burial and that he should be buried at the river banks, this is because they believe by doing this, evil spirits and curses that can later come back to haunt the family will be forever dealt with because they would be washed up by the river

Misiko stated that the elders had to conduct a veneration ritual of the deceased as as to prevent any bad omen among the deceased’s family before he was buried. After the ritual the elder would be gifted cows and when he leaves the compound he must not look back at all

The father of the deceased, Mr. Robert Watila Wanjala also mentioned that he is afraid that if they bury him, evil spirits and curses may follow the family. The family was also supposed to attend the post-mortem which was done at Bungoma County referral hospital mortuary, but they did not turn up
