Happening now: ODM supporters threaten to invade the podium at Kasarani

There was a pull and push between ODM supporters and security officers in Kasarani Stadium after a number of supporters left the stands and invade the field.

Police officers and the program organizers had a rough time trying to clear the field as the excited supporters took them in round while singing and dancing along the tracks.

Music was forced to be stoped as the organizers urged the supporters to return to the stands and follow the proceedings from there.

However, the jubilant crowd later returned to their positions, bringing everything to a normalcy. Supporters started getting into the stadium as early as 3 am with others having braced the chilly night to camp at the stadium.

This comes at a time when Kasarani stadium is nearing full capacity, just hours before the ODM boss Raila Odinga makes his way into the venue for the much-awaited convention. He will be expected to officially declare his presidential bid, after making country-wide trips consulting the public.

At 11:30 Am Raila is expected to make his way into the stadium according to the program.

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, George Aladwa, Gladys Wanga, Mbishi Mbogo among other key ODM leaders have already made their way into the stadium.
