“Prepare for lockdown” CS Mutahi Kagwe

Kenyans are staring at a possible lockdown and a quiet Christmas festive season because of the deadly COVID-19 variant that has started wreaking havoc once again.

Kenyans have been enjoying freedom since President Uhuru Kenyatta lifted the nationwide dusk to dawn curfew that required them to be in the house before 10 pm.

Some sections of the country including major cities such as Nairobi and Mombasa were also put under lockdown, where Kenyans were not allowed to move in or out of the regions.

It has now been warned that the country could be locked up again if the ongoing rising positivity rate continues.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has warned Kenyans that there are chances of locking up the country if the COVID-19 infections keep on rising.

“Prepare for lockdowns if Covid19 infections keep rising,” he said.

Currently, the world is racing against time to stop the rapidly spreading Omicron variant, which is said to be deadlier than other variants.

The variant was discovered by South African scientists but has so far been reported in several countries, in African, Europe and America among other regions
