Sad news as the last remaining survivor is yet to be found after mine collapsed

A Gold miner who died after a mining shaft collapsed in Abimbo villages is set to be buried this weekend. According to the report from family members, plans for burying Enos whose body was discovered on 5 December, are underway.

On Monday, Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga announced his administration would cater for hospital bills and burial expenses for the survivors and the deceased.

According to Citizen TV, for the last four days, the compressor that was generating oxygen to one of the miners who stuck in the shaft has gone silent, and several rescuers decreased day by day.

The rescue team has shared a sad story after revealing what the person who is still inside was heard saying.

“Huku no Kama Sigatoka, Naskia njaa tafadhali”, they stated.

James Orengo Message;

Visited Abimbo Gold mine in Bondo Constituency where some of our young men are trapped underneath. I have offered my support to the team leading the rescue mission coordinated by Red Cross. May God give the families of the individual strength through such tough times.
