Government bans night events in the following counties

The spread of Covid-19 has greatly impacted how we interact with each other and has subsequently changed our lives probably forever given a new wave that is going through Africa.

Although not as deadly as the previous waves, Omicron Variant has proved to spread too fast throughout the continent and Kenya has been no exception.

Just yesterday, the Inspector General Mutyambai told Kenyans that there will be heightened security on the streets to ensure that there will no incidents of mischief from those planning to disrupt any activities.

Central Kenya seems to be the one that will be most affected by this directive as the government went ahead and banned all night vigils in the region.

The counties of Kirinyaga, Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyeri and Nyandarua will all be affected with this directive that seeks to curb the increase in criminal activities in the areas.

The church has welcomed the move despite the fact that this will affect Christmas and New Years Eve where thousands throng churches.
