Herd of elephants disrupted movement n Maai Mahiu-Naivasha highway today

Movement on Maai Mahiu-Naivasha Highway has been disrupted because a herd of elephants is said to have taken over the road over the last few hours.

The herd of elephants has been spotted along the busy highway since yesterday night where they are said to have severely injured one motorist on the road.

The Kenya Wildlife Service in conjunction with the National Police Service is busy trying to clear the elephants so that movement can resume on the busy highway this morning.

It’s still unclear as to where the elephants escaped from causing all this chaos at the road which has seen little to no movement over the past few hours.

The Kenya Wildlife Service is employing the services of a helicopter to get the elephants back to their enclosure but this hasn’t solved the problem just yet.

The rangers from the Kenya Wildlife Service are trying their best to ensure that traffic resumes as this is one of the busiest cargo highways in the country.
