Body of business man in Kisii exhumed after he was secretly buried

Police in Kisii exhumed the body of 76-year-old businessman who was secretly buried at night after court stopped burial.

The officers attached to Kenyenya Police Station dug out the body of Mr Andrew Mogaka Ombogi at Mokubo area in Bomachoge Borabu Sub-County on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Ogembo Court Senior Principal Magistrate, Paul Biwott stopped the burial service of Ombogi after one of his sweetheart Josphine Kwamboka Nyambane petitioned the court.

In the application, Kwamboka was interested in stopping the burial service from taking place after Yunes Omanga wanted the burial to take place.

The court therefore ordered Yunes to stop the burial from taking place.

“A lawsuit has been filed seeking to stop Yunes Omanga and her kins, friends or relatives from giving her husband the final send-off until the court gives its final ruling,” the court order read in part.

“Kenyenya Police Station will give them security and help them in obtaining a fresh court order,” it added.

Yunes flouted the court ruling and laid the businessman at night, something that led to the digging out of the body by police officers.

The body of the businessman Ogembo was transferred to Kenyenya Funeral mortuary until the court gives its ruling on 11 January 2022.
