A matatu full of passengers overturns in Nyeri leaving several injured

Accidents on the Kenyan highways have been on the rise in the recent past with many people losing their lives while some are left maimed in hospitals across the country.

The government, through the National Transport and Safety Authority, has been doing its best to mitigate this scourge that has robbed the country of many productive people.

This evening, we have received reports of an accident that happened near Tetu Boys High School in Nyeri County earlier this New Year’s day.

The Nyeri County Fire Department responded to the scene and was able to rescue those that were trapped in the matatu.

The injured were rushed to Outspan Hospital where they are receiving treatment following the accident.

No casualties were reported in the accident that happened today in one of the major highways in Nyeri County.

Motorists have been advised to always ensure that they are careful to avoid these accidents that happen during the festive holidays.
