Sad news as four incubated babies die due to lack of electricity and water in hospital

It is a dream of every expectant mother to give birth to an healthy baby, receive proper care and medication as she natures it. However, it is unfortunate that in the 21st century where electricity and water seem to be a basic need, top hospitals and schools still lack them in most counties in Kenya.

Yesterday, 4 babies were reported to have succumbed to death inside their incubators due to lack of electricity and water in Wajir County. Doctors were forced to use Mobile phones flashlight to help mothers in the delivery wards. Considering that Incubators requires continuous supply electricity to run and this was a nightmare in the hospital.

Hospital workers claimed that they work on a filthy environment due to lack of water. According to report by citizen tv, the KMPU chair Dr. Ahmed Noor, said that the effort by one of their staff to raise an alarm led to him being allegedly harrased one of the County officers.

The residents are now pleading with the government to intervene and help them access affordable and accessible Healthcare since they are now forced to attend private hospitals which is comparatively expensive.
