Most wanted terror suspect surenders in Nyeri

Robert Gathogo Ngunjiri the most wanted terror suspect surrenders in Nyeri, pleads innocence.

Robert Gathogo Ngunjiri alias Abdurahman Hija Mnubi aged 27 years who stays in Baraka estate Kamakwa was nabbed in Nyeri today Thursday.

The arrest came barely a day after the DCI issued a public notice on eight missing terrorists describing them as “armed and dangerous”.

The arrested suspect was among the eight suspects on DCI’s Wednesday list.

In a report obtained by press on Wednesday, the DCI urged kenyans to file any suspicious information that may see the arrest of the eight culprits connected to the Islamist terror-based group network.

Ngunjiri aka Mnubi who comes from Nyeri county was among armed who terrorised Nyeri locals and flee to Somalia for Alshabaab training in 2016.

Brief reports from the authorities revealed that he was deployed to Kenya to plotattacks.

Robert who is will be in police cell until completion of police probes noted he was undergoing jail term at King’ong’o maximum prison in Nyeri after being convincted of robbery with violence charges.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment but the court dismissed this and was freed on January 2019.

The eight were; Mohamed Ali Hussein, Ahmed Ali Mohamed, Abdurahman Hija aka Mnubi, Erick Njoroge Wachira aka Mohamed Njoroge aka Moha, Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir aka Ikrima, Peter Guchungu Njoroge aka Mustafa, Mohamud Abdi Aden alias Mohamed Yare alias Ibrahim alias Mohamed Hassan alias Mohamud Abdirahman and Kassim Musa Mwarusi aka Abu Miki.
